Beachcomber Park is a shore dive on Cottam Point, on the north shore of Northwest Bay at Nanoose, on Vancouver Island. A meandering path from Beachcomber Regional Park leads to the water's edge. Depth reaches 76 m (250 ft) on the deep wall, so the site can be dived at very different levels.
Swimming north from the beach you meet depths of 40 to 100 ft (12 to 30 m), with small walls, sandy slopes and hidden rock formations. The North Deep Wall descends to 250+ ft (76 m). The South Wall reaches 180 ft (54 m) and is reached by a clearly marked trail near the Beachcomber Regional Park sign. Swimming south brings sponges and a striking wall.
Current is minimal, depending on tidal exchange.
Watch for current, tidal exchanges, depth, boats, wind and weather. Parking is ample, and there is a public washroom and a garbage receptacle. The site suits divers of all levels, beginners and experienced alike, within sensible depth limits.
