About this site
Cabo Pulmo is a national marine park in the Sea of Cortez, established in 1995. It is one of only three living reefs in North America and the only one in the Sea of Cortez.
The park is famous for its massive marine life, with schools of jacks, giant groupers and bull sharks among more than 900 species in total. Decades ago the reefs were in decline from overfishing, but strict protections let the area rebound into one of the healthiest reef systems in the Americas.
