Chameau is one of the reefs off the island of Nosy Sakatia, grouped with the neighbouring reefs of Louis, Ankora and The Arch. These reefs are known for the variety and abundance of their marine life, with gorgeous corals and prolific fish.
Jacks, wahoos, angelfish, crocodilefish, blue spotted stingrays, nudibranchs, leaf fish, scorpionfish and friendly titan triggerfish are all seen, and white tip sharks appear on occasion. The area is also one of the best for meeting whale sharks, in October and November.
