Chankanaab Shallows is a shallow platform reef in front of Chankanaab Park on Cozumel, dived by boat, about 12 metres (35 to 40 feet) deep. It is rated easy. Chankanaab means little ocean in Mayan.
Currents are mild, typically running north to south. At one end is a flat sandy bottom where king crabs, spiny lobsters and spotted moray eels tend to hang out. The site is popular for night dives, with large numbers of octopus and reef squid.
