Ebithe Faro is a reef ridge at the south-west corner of Fuvahmulah island in the Maldives, where the reef meets the open ocean. The site sits a short boat ride from the island's harbour, as Fuvahmulah itself is only about 4.5 km long and 1.2 km wide.
Hammerhead sharks and manta rays glide along the ridge together with schools of fish. Both great hammerheads and scalloped hammerheads are present, with scalloped hammerheads noted as seasonal. Manta rays include both reef and oceanic mantas.
Advanced Open Water certification is recommended for this site. Every dive is conducted with a full briefing, in guided groups, with a surface marker buoy carried by every buddy team and depth and current limits agreed before entry.
Confirmed by our research team, reported by independent divers, or observed nearby via iNaturalist — each entry is labelled with its source.
