El Emisario is a volcanic reef dive site located off Playa Blanca, Lanzarote, named after the large pipes that sit on the seabed in the area. The site is reached by boat and lies only around five minutes from Marina Rubicón. The mooring is placed alongside the pipes themselves, which serve as the starting reference point before divers follow the volcanic rock wall that runs away from them toward the reef edge.
The terrain combines a volcanic rock wall contrasting with white sand, with the pipes forming a distinctive mid-dive landmark. Maximum depth reaches 19–21 metres, and the site is suited to all levels including beginners, offering an easy, relaxed profile with no demanding navigation.
The reef holds a reliable variety of marine life. Stingrays of various types, angel sharks, groupers, barracudas, moray eels, octopus, parrotfish, and garden eels are regularly spotted, particularly when divers move slowly and search the cracks and crevices along the wall.
Conditions at El Emisario are generally calm, with good visibility, no significant current, and water temperatures ranging from 17 °C to 24 °C depending on the season. The combination of easy orientation, gentle conditions, and active reef life makes it a comfortable choice for newer divers and those seeking a straightforward, enjoyable dive.
