El Rincon is a boat dive on El Hierro, only two minutes from the harbour. It takes its name, meaning the corner, from its position where the port wall meets a rocky bar running out into the sea. It is a beginner dive with little or no current.
The dive goes down to about 20 m and then follows a lava tongue. Along the route divers meet dusky and island groupers, trumpetfish, barred hogfish, Canary lobsters and sea bream. Porcupinefish and the endangered angel shark can turn up in cracks on the way back to the anchor line.
