About this site
Hollywood is a reef on the leeward side of the Turneffe Islands in Belize, in water 20 to 50 ft (6 to 15 m) deep. It is a good place to get comfortable diving the offshore atolls.
Shelter and terrain. The site is sheltered from swells and large waves. The reef is wide and slopes gently, with ample shallow-water diving. Dive boats generally anchor in 40 to 45 ft (12 to 14 m) of water, and it takes a good swim seaward to reach depths greater than 50 ft (15 m).
Snorkelling. Snorkelers can enjoy the protected shallows too. A swim toward the distant mangroves leads to a reef crest that is typically under several feet of water. Because the reefs are submerged and waves are reduced, this is one of the best places to snorkel the reef crest.

The least desirable aspect of the site is its low visibility. The water is not murky, but clouds of suspended matter from the atoll are typical.
