Isla Cerralvo is the most southern island in the Sea of Cortez, off Baja California, and is also known as Jacques Cousteau Island. Dives here are made from the boat, and the island has small caves and swim-throughs as well as open water.
From July to October large pelagic fish, sea lions, giant oceanic manta rays and mobula rays show up, and scalloped hammerheads, whale sharks and bottlenose dolphins have also been reported. Currents can be strong, and water temperatures range from 22 to 28 degrees Celsius.
