James Bay is a dive site on the west coast of Santiago Island in the Galapagos. The bay opens to the north, which makes it a protected site, and it is described as perfect for beginners. The depth varies between 8 and 18 metres (25 to 60 feet), over a mixture of brown sand and volcanic rock.
The water is generally cold, which allows divers to see species usually found only on Isabela Island, such as horned sharks, sea robins and red-lipped batfish. Sea lions, fur seals and young Galapagos sharks can also be spotted. The site can be enjoyed by diving or snorkelling.
