Lodge Anchor is a shallow reef dive on the East End of Grand Cayman, named for an old anchor that rests upright against the reef a short swim east of the mooring. The anchor dates to 1794 and is linked to the wreck of the Ten Sails. Its chain is heavily overgrown and encrusted.
The mooring sits at 12 metres and the dive reaches 18 metres. Low, narrow grooves run directly below the mooring, with sandy patches nearby. The deeper part of the site has waving gardens of sea fans and sea plumes, healthy sponges and large colonies of hard corals.
Peacock flounders lie well camouflaged on the sand and dart away flashing white with blue rings when startled.
