Los Coquitos lies in the Caribbean Sea off San Pedro de Macorís, on the southern coast of the Dominican Republic east of Santo Domingo. Dive operations along this stretch typically run out of nearby coastal towns on short boat trips to sites along the shoreline. Divers here have reported greater star coral, symmetrical brain coral, and yellow pencil coral forming the reef structure, along with West Indian sea eggs and Atlantic rock-boring urchins on the bottom. Atlantic ghost crabs and Caribbean land hermit crabs have also been noted around the site.
