About this site

Magicienne Rock is an offshore pinnacle dive site at Tioman Island, Malaysia, named after the British warship HMS Magicienne. The pinnacle rises to a shallowest point of 15 m and descends to a maximum depth of 28 m, with dramatic vertical walls covered in soft corals and sea fans.

The walls of the pinnacle are well suited to both macro and wide-angle photography, with nudibranchs and sea fans among the notable subjects. Reef sharks are also recorded at the site.

The site is reached by boat from one of Tioman's main jetties, with most sites in the area accessible within 15–25 minutes. The best diving season runs from March through October; the northeast monsoon closes diving from November to February. Visibility is generally good, and currents can run strong, placing Magicienne Rock in the intermediate-to-advanced category.
