Manta Point lies off the south coast of Gili Trawangan, between the island and Gili Meno, and is the place on Trawangan to look for manta rays. It is shallow, no more than 18 metres.
From 10 to 15 metres you sway in the surge above pink cabbage coral. Devil rays, eagle rays and manta rays can be found here, and the best chance is in the rainy season, when the water is rich in plankton. Another account gives April to November as the likeliest time for mantas.
Reef sharks, schools of sweetlips, snappers and fusiliers are also seen, along with turtles and parrotfish.
