MUSA is the Underwater Museum of Art off Isla Mujeres, an artificial reef made up of more than 500 life-size sculptures in shallow, clear water. Depth is about 10 m (33 ft) at most, and conditions are calm, so it suits beginners and rusty divers, and snorkelers visit it too.
Coral growth, reef fish and turtles share the site with the art, and it is good for photography and wide-angle video. Parrotfish, rays and angelfish are among the regular sightings.
Confirmed by our research team, reported by independent divers, or observed nearby via iNaturalist — each entry is labelled with its source.
