About this site
Nankiville is a coral reef dive off Nungwi at the north end of Zanzibar, reached by boat. It is about 12 m deep and rated beginner. It lies next to Hunga reef, and both sit in open water rather than against the shore.
Large coral bommies, mostly hard corals, are scattered over a flat bottom that is well covered with corals. The sand between the rocks is worth a close look.
Shoals of barracuda, snappers and sweetlips are common, along with individual Napoleon wrasse and groupers. Crocodilefish and scorpionfish sit in the sand between the rocks.

Visibility is usually very good here. The site is excellent for beginner and intermediate divers, since the depth is moderate and the bommies make the layout easy to follow.
