Pappai Pass is a channel through the barrier reef surrounding Taha'a, one of the Society Islands in French Polynesia, which shares a lagoon with neighboring Raiatea. Passes like this cut between the open ocean and the inner lagoon and are typically reached by boat from villages along Taha'a's coast. Divers here have reported blacktip reef sharks patrolling the channel, along with sixbar wrasse, striped surgeonfish, and two-spined angelfish around the reef structure.
