Puerto Plata Airport Wall is a vertical wall dive located on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, immediately adjacent to Puerto Plata International Airport, reached by a roughly ten-minute boat ride from Sosua Bay. The reef top sits at a shallow point with healthy coral growth, and the wall descends to a maximum depth of 24 m (80 ft), featuring dramatic underwater cliffs, overhangs, and swim-through caverns and tunnels cut into the face of the wall.
The wall structure itself is the main draw, with its overhangs and caverns providing shelter for eagle rays and reef sharks that are often spotted hiding within the passages. At the top of the reef, octopus can be observed gliding in and out of crevices among the corals if you look carefully.
Entry is by boat, and the site is rated for advanced divers given its depth and the nature of wall diving with penetration features such as the swim-throughs and caverns.
