Shelly Beach is a protected marine reserve at Manly in Sydney, dived to about 12 metres. The site is protected from easterly winds and can be dived year-round, with good visibility over rocky reef and kelp forests.
Giant cuttlefish change colour among the kelp, and dusky whaler sharks are the highlight for divers who meet them here. Stingrays, Port Jackson sharks, wobbegongs, eastern blue groper, yellowtail and nudibranchs have also been reported.
Confirmed by our research team, reported by independent divers, or observed nearby via iNaturalist — each entry is labelled with its source.
