Silfra is a freshwater fissure in Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site about 50 km from Reykjavik in Iceland. The fissure is around 63 metres deep, with rock walls, and it is filled with glacial water.
Visibility reaches up to 100 metres, so the rock walls and the drop below can be seen from a long way off. The water stays between 2 and 4°C, close to freezing, and the site can be dived year-round.
