Stargate is a world-famous inland blue hole located on South Andros Island in the Bahamas. It gained significant international recognition when it was featured on the cover of National Geographic as part of a story on Bahamas blue holes. It sits among the highest concentration of blue holes in the world, a distinction that belongs to South Andros Island.
As ocean tides shift, fresh water flows from the depths of the blue hole into the ocean and mixes with salt water, creating a unique and diverse habitat. This halocline dynamic is a defining characteristic of the dive experience at Stargate.
