Sunset Reef is a shallow reef off Grand Cayman, reached by boat and named after the resort on the shoreline beside it. It forms part of the spur and groove reef system running along the coast towards the edge of the wall.
Massive coral heads rise from a bottom of about 6 metres (twenty feet) to the surface, and to beyond it at low tide. The shallower areas hold a garden of sea rods and sea whips.
The reef is often used as a scuba training area, and visibility is generally good.
