The Cementco is a wreck dive site off Moreton Island, Queensland, Australia, centred on a 67-metre hopper barge that spent many years working in Moreton Bay transporting fossilised coral for cement production. The vessel was scheduled to be scuttled as an artificial reef in 1985, but sank prematurely in rough weather and came to rest upside down on the seafloor in 25 metres of water.
The wreck sits hull-up at a maximum depth of 25 metres and is sparsely covered in corals. Divers can safely penetrate the rusting hull and explore its interior structure.
The Cementco supports a mix of reef and pelagic species. Reef fish and invertebrates inhabit the wreck along with the occasional groper, while trevally, batfish, mackerel, and barracuda are regularly seen cruising the surrounding water.
