The Odyssey is a sunken freighter off Roatan's north shore in Honduras's Bay Islands, deliberately scuttled to form an artificial reef and now reached by short boat rides from operators around West Bay and West End. The ship rests on a sandy bottom, with its deck starting well down and the sand lying deeper still, putting much of the site in the range better suited to divers comfortable beyond recreational limits. Its structure has been colonized by sponges and reef fish typical of the area, and divers have reported Atlantic blue tang, stoplight and striped parrotfish, Caribbean bluehead wrasse, sergeant majors, long-spined sea urchins, red cushion sea stars, and Caribbean land hermit crabs around the wreck.
