Western Rocky is a pinnacle about 80 km off the coast of Myanmar, often compared with Richelieu Rock and counted among Burma's most famous sites. It offers a sloping reef, good wall diving and several surrounding pinnacles, so you get wall and reef diving on one dive.
The key feature is a long tunnel that runs through the island at about 20 m (66 ft), with lots of crayfish and usually some large sleeping nurse sharks. The optimum depth range is 5 to 30 m (16 to 98 ft), the current is moderate and visibility is normally excellent.
It is one of Burma's best places for shark sightings. Whitetip reef sharks, grey reef sharks and blacktips are fairly common, and bull sharks can show up too.
