6 Meter Reef is a boat dive site at Xiao LiuQiu (Little LiuQiu / Lamay Island), Taiwan's only large coral island, situated 15 km south-west of DongGang and surrounded by fringing reef. The site takes its name from its maximum depth of 6 m, making it an extremely shallow reef dive.
Water temperature ranges from 24–29°C and the site can be dived year-round, with the April–September window noted as a key season. Visibility at Xiao LiuQiu generally reaches 30 m or more in the clear water surrounding the coral island.
Green sea turtles are the headline attraction across Xiao LiuQiu's dive sites, including 6 Meter Reef, where multiple individuals — from juveniles to adults — are reliably encountered on every dive. The turtles are protected and are drawn to the healthy coral; adult females come ashore to nest and lay eggs during the summer months.
