Big Broadhurst Reef sits on the Great Barrier Reef off the central Queensland coast, part of the outer reef system reached by boat from mainland ports along the Townsville and Whitsunday region. Diving here reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres over a reef bottom and is rated a beginner site. Divers have also reported barracuda and bull sharks on the reef, along with Indian sea stars and long-spined crown-of-thorns starfish among the bottom life.
