About this site
Blowhole is a rocky reef dive on the Los Cabos coast of Baja California, Mexico, named after the hole in the caves above that blows when waves hit the cliffs. The site is dramatic, with massive boulders and crevices, and runs from roughly 40 to 110 ft (12 to 35 m). The current is strong.
The reef has pinnacles and a small wall, with a mix of shallow and deeper profiles. The deeper water has beautiful corals.
A resident whitetip reef shark rests in one of the rocky caves. Huge morays can be seen down here, along with groupers and snappers. Schools of jacks, pufferfish and turtles pass along the reef, and rays occasionally cruise by.
