About this site

Cavayan Cave lies in the Philippines, at coordinates placing it in the central island region of the archipelago, over a reef bottom that reaches a maximum depth of around 20 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported angelfish, clownfish, parrotfish, triggerfish, snapper, grouper and trevally on the reef, along with occasional sightings of larger passersby such as barracuda, tuna, manta rays, dugongs, hammerhead and thresher sharks, and whale sharks. Down currents and so-called washing machine conditions have also been reported at the site, so conditions can turn stronger than the beginner rating might suggest.
