Clover Point is a shore dive in Victoria on the southern coast of Vancouver Island, near Ross Bay Cemetery in Dallas Road Park. You enter and exit by a boat ramp, and the maximum depth is around 12 metres.
The rocky reefs hold colourful starfish, basket stars and many nudibranchs. In summer a lush kelp forest shelters small fish, crabs and sea anemones. The sandy flats around the point have yellow and orange sea pens and the occasional dogfish or skate. More experienced divers can go to the end of the point, where four old railway cars lie submerged, and where lingcod, red Irish lords, greenling and wolf eel live in rocky dens.
The current is mild to medium, so dive on small exchanges or at slack. Fishing boats and whale-watching boats pass nearby, so use a dive flag, and carry a knife in case of entanglement in the kelp.
