Down Beach is located in Limbe, a coastal town in Cameroon's Southwest Region on the Gulf of Guinea, near the base of Mount Cameroon. The area is known locally as a fishing beach with dark volcanic sand, typical of this stretch of the Cameroonian coastline. Divers in these waters have reported blackchin guitarfish, milk sharks, and pearl stingrays along the bottom, along with green and olive ridley sea turtles and passing yellowfin tuna.
