Elefante, also called Elephant, is a dive site in the Catalina Islands named for rock formations that resemble elephants, most visible at low tide. Divers can explore in different directions, descending to 27 metres (90 feet) or staying at a shallower 12 metres (40 feet).
Water temperatures run from 18 to 27 degrees Celsius. The site is known for ray and shark sightings, and common sightings include white-tip reef sharks, various eels, eagle rays, round rays, octopus, schools of grunts, angelfish, surgeonfish, lobsters and the occasional nudibranch.
