Ile Cocos is a shallow reef site off Praslin, in the Seychelles inner islands, sitting within a protected marine park that keeps fishing pressure low and fish populations strong. The reef is calm on most days and suits both divers and snorkelers, who can use the site at the same time without crowding each other out.
The terrain is a shallow, protected reef that remains within easy reach for a broad range of abilities, including beginners and weaker swimmers. Marine park status means the site benefits from year-round protection, and conditions are generally sheltered with light current.
Hawksbill turtles are a consistent presence, gliding along the reef edge with little concern for nearby swimmers and appearing on nearly every dive and snorkel. Fish density is high throughout the year as a direct result of the no-fishing rules inside the marine park.
