Karavos Deep Challenge is a shore dive that follows a canyon from the middle of Kalypso Bay straight down to the canyon's bottom and back. The floor of the canyon lies at 23 to 25 metres, and the dive continues down to 35 to 40 metres, close to a big table-rock, which is the deepest point.
Huge walls with drop-offs run along the left side, and open blue sea lies on the right, with the great depth outside the canyon visible from here. On the way back, the rock formations along the right side of the canyon are used for safety stops at 21, 16, 9 and 5 metres.
Colourful small fish, various sponges, sea urchins, starfish, fire worms and sea anemones cover the rocks, along with different types of groupers, big silver dentex and moray eels. Octopuses, sea turtles and stingrays are seen occasionally, big groupers stay close to the bottom, and small barracudas swim over the deep part.
