About this site
La Baleine sits in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Guadeloupe, near the coordinates placing it along the western, leeward side of the island group known as Basse-Terre. This part of the Caribbean is characterized by volcanic coastline dropping into open water, with dive operators typically running boat trips out of nearby coastal towns. Divers here have also reported the nudibranch Lynx Phidiana on the site.
