Los Chuchos is a boat dive off Las Galletas in southern Tenerife, a volcanic reef over sandy areas at 12 to 23 metres. The name means The Rays in Canarian, and the sand around the reef is known for stingray encounters, including the huge roughtail stingrays.
The dive follows rocky ledges, overhangs and small caverns at around 16 metres, and reaches the remains of a wooden fishing boat resting near the sand. Deeper sections go to about 22 metres. The current runs from none to light, and Open Water and Advanced Open Water divers can dive it.
Shoals of bogues, seabreams, gold line and barracuda move over the site. Moray eels, octopus and cuttlefish are found around the rocks and the wreck.
