Madrona Point is a shore-accessible dive site located in Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, known for its easy access and diverse marine life along a sloping reef that descends to around 80 feet (24 metres).
The reef slopes gradually to a maximum depth of 24.4 metres, with wall sections along the way. The terrain supports kelp forests and rocky structure, providing varied habitat across the dive.
Marine life at Madrona Point includes wolf eels, octopus, Giant Pacific octopus, nudibranchs, Quillback, Copper, China, Black, Vermilion, and Yelloweye rockfish, Plumose anemones, Crimson anemones, and Feather stars.
The site is suitable for divers of all skill levels, including beginners. Diving at slack tide—ideally high slack—is essential, as large tidal exchanges produce strong currents. Water temperature ranges from 7 to 13°C year-round, with winter bringing the best visibility; conditions otherwise range from 30 to 50 feet (9 to 15 metres). Hazards include a slippery entry at low tide, fishing activity in summer, and sea lions.
