Manta Point is a reef dive site in the Maldives, accessible by boat, and one of several sites reachable from the South Malé Atoll area. It is known primarily as a reliable location to encounter manta rays, with up to 12 different individuals recorded on a single dive.
The site can draw significant boat traffic — up to 13 boats have been recorded on a single visit — which means bubbles in the water and multiple divers in the same area. A common approach is to exit the water after the first dive, wait on the surface for the crowds to thin, and re-enter for a quieter second dive with far fewer divers around.
Manta ray encounters are the defining feature of the site, and the mantas here are wild animals that warrant respectful distance; dive briefings specifically address behaviour around them. Visibility at the site is good. The bottom type is reef.
