Moore Reef is a coral reef site on the outer Great Barrier Reef, accessed from Cairns, Queensland, Australia. The reef reaches a maximum depth of 30 metres and features vibrant coral gardens that can be explored by snorkellers and divers. A floating pontoon is moored at the site, providing a fixed base for water entry via two dedicated snorkel platforms, making access straightforward for visitors of all experience levels, including beginners.
The reef is home to turtles, Maori wrasse, reef sharks, giant green sea turtles, molluscs, and a variety of fish across its coral terrain. Jellyfish are a noted hazard at the site. The reef can be dived year-round.
Diving options at Moore Reef include introductory scuba dives for non-certified divers and guided dives for certified divers, both conducted with a guide and full equipment. A seawalker helmet dive is also available at a depth of 3.5 metres below the surface. The site's beginner rating and pontoon-based entry make it well suited to new divers and snorkellers, as well as families.
