Paso de Cedral is a reef dive off Cozumel, Mexico, named after a Mayan settlement inland from Cedral Beach. It has two valleys separated by a platform, and a wall that drops off into the deep blue. The shallower part has a cavern area with swim-throughs.
Depth runs from about 10 to 30 m (30 to 100 ft) or more. The current mostly runs north and can be moderate to very strong, so the site suits intermediate to advanced divers and is often dived as a drift.
Schools of grunts and snappers sit over colourful coral formations. Barracuda, green morays, nurse sharks and large groupers are commonly seen, along with the occasional spotted eagle ray. Hawksbill and green turtles feed here alongside royal and French angelfish.
