About this site

The Pinnacle is a huge underwater reef on the eastern side of Verde Island, in the Verde Island Passage between Luzon and Mindoro. It rises as a column from about 60 metres of water and narrows as it reaches the surface.

The currents are ferocious, with some down current. The idea is to get as close to the pinnacle as possible and then descend to your agreed depth, then zig-zag up it, exploring the corals and marine life. With the current running fast you cannot circle the pinnacle or you will be washed away. Schools of pelagics sometimes pass in the blue, and the visibility is brilliant.
