About this site

Playa Chica is a sheltered bay with a gentle sandy slope at Puerto del Carmen on Lanzarote, entered from the shore. It is a place for beginners to start, with calm conditions and a shallow entry where you can stand up.

Conditions are good nearly all year, with great visibility and no current. Water temperature runs between about 17 and 24 degrees Celsius. Depths reach 23 metres. Angel sharks, rays, octopus, cuttlefish and moray eels are among the animals listed for the bay.
