About this site
Ras Lima is a sloping coral reef on the coast of the Musandam Peninsula, just outside the town of Lima and close to Lima Rock. The reef runs down to a sandy bottom and suits divers of all levels.
Depth varies from 8 m at the western drop-in point, the closest to Lima village, to 25 m on the pinnacles near the point of Ras Lima. Past the point, an underwater ridge runs towards Lima Rock. The pinnacles are covered in marine life as you near the point.
The site works for both macro and wide-angle photography. Small subjects include nudibranchs, whip gobies, hermit crabs and coral shrimps. Larger animals include cow tail rays, shoaling yellow snapper, yellow spotted trevally, turtles and geometric moray eels.

Conditions and use. Ras Lima is a good night dive option. It also gives a sheltered place to dive when a strong easterly wind is blowing.
