Shark Canyon is a boat dive site located on the Juno Ledge Reef off Juno Beach, sitting in 70–85 ft (21–26 m) of water. The defining features are two horseshoe-shaped cuts in the reef ledge, known as Amphitheaters, which create a natural arena setting. Beyond the two Amphitheaters, a 4 ft (1.2 m) ledge extends to the north and holds considerable reef life.
The site is best approached by dropping in and kicking north, as with a north-running current the southern view appears as a flat, sandy plain. Divers are advised to settle into the sand inside each Amphitheater and wait at least 10 minutes — Caribbean reef sharks regularly circle the area without any bait or feeding involved, making this a fully natural shark encounter. The same green sea turtle and a tagged hawksbill turtle are frequently seen at the site, and spotted eagle rays and hammerhead sharks have also been recorded here.
Shark Canyon is rated for Open Water-level divers, and the medium current — which can run from the north — is a key factor in how the dive unfolds, shaping both navigation and the behaviour of marine life around the Amphitheaters.
