Shark Plateau is a reef dive site located on the north side of Batee Tokong, off Pulau Weh. The site takes the form of a plateau sitting at 24 metres depth, providing a broad, relatively flat reef structure as its main feature.
The plateau hosts black and white tip reef sharks along with the occasional gray reef shark, making shark encounters the draw of the site. Large schools of trevallies, tuna, eagle rays, and fusiliers are regularly seen here, while giant groupers, barracuda, bigeye trevally, rays, sea fans, barrel sponges, and hard corals round out the marine life across the reef. The dive ends at Batee Tokong.
This is a deep, strong-current dive rated for advanced divers only, and Nitrox is recommended. Visibility is great, and the site can be dived year-round with water temperatures of 28–29°C.
