Siaba Kecil is a coral reef dive site in the central zone of Komodo National Park, located a short distance from its larger neighbour, Siaba Besar. Where Siaba Besar offers relaxed diving, Siaba Kecil is defined by an exhilarating drift along a sloping reef, with depths ranging from 10 m to 30 m. The topography combines overhangs, coral ridges, and sandy patches, giving the dive a varied and dynamic feel throughout.
The reef supports healthy soft corals and sea fans alongside schools of fish, and looking out into open water gives chances of spotting reef sharks, eagle rays, and barracudas. Turtles, grouper, and dugong are also recorded at this site, and the macro life includes nudibranchs.
Currents here run moderate to strong and drive a fast-paced drift, which is what shapes both the marine life and the diver experience. The site is classed as advanced; Open Water divers with specific drift diving experience may also be suitable. The best time to dive is March through November, when conditions are most consistent.
Access is by boat. The current sweeps divers along the reef, making this essentially a one-direction drift dive, and the direction can shift with the tide.
