Stonehenge

Stonehenge is a dive site in the Tarutao Archipelago, located in the waters around Koh Lipe in southern Thailand, within the Tarutao National Marine Park. The site reaches a maximum depth of 30 m with a shallowest point of around 3 m, and the terrain is characterised by gorgonians and soft corals draped over reef structures.

The reef holds an impressive range of life, including turtles, schools of pelagic fish, sharks, manta rays, mobula rays, and whale sharks, as well as abundant coral fish across the reef structures.

Conditions at Stonehenge and surrounding Tarutao sites can vary considerably. Visibility ranges from 8 to 25 m — it can drop to 5–8 m or open up to 20 m or more depending on wind, swell, and tidal movement; strong currents during double daily tides with a large tidal range are a significant factor affecting both visibility and dive conditions.
