Tire Reef is a reef area with plenty of hard and soft corals and an abundance of different fish, with a maximum depth of 27 metres. It takes its name from the coral encrusted tires that were once found there, although the tires are no longer in place.
Channel Reef, a small reef with soft and hard corals, lies between Barcadera Reef and Barrel Gardens Reef/Tire Reef, and that site is dived only when no freighters are moving in or out of the channel.
