Turtle Canyon is a reef off the coast of Waikiki, on the south shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Lava fingers extending out from the shore make it simple to navigate, and the maximum depth is about 35 feet (11 metres). It is a good site for beginner divers and snorkelers, although waves can be large in summer.
It is one of the best places to see Hawaiian green sea turtles, and you can expect to see several large ones. They rest on the bottom or on reef ledges that extend over the sand, and they gather at the cleaning stations where cleaner wrasse work on them. The turtles are used to divers, so you can get close for pictures. The reef overhangs hold a variety of critters and are worth exploring with a light.
