Apple Orchard is a reef dive site within Komodo National Park, named for its numerous branching coral formations that resemble apple trees in an orchard. The site is characterised by coral-covered slopes that create a colourful and varied underwater landscape.
The reef holds a busy mix of marine life, with schools of damselfish, anthias, and fusiliers filling the water column above the slopes. Larger species are also regularly encountered, including reef sharks, barracudas, and occasional passing manta rays. The coral formations provide shelter for moray eels, nudibranchs, and a variety of crustaceans.
Currents at Apple Orchard can vary from mild to moderate, and the site is considered suitable for divers of various experience levels, including beginners, making it a good choice for those primarily interested in coral formations and reef biodiversity.
